GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW - 1992
The Show is opened by the Transports Minister, Mr Giancarlo Tesini. The harsher and harsher tax laws for boat owners, exacerbating the crisis faced by the pleasure boating industry, lead to a 4-hour strike by the exhibitors at the Show. The Finance Minister, Mr Giovanni Goria, is immediately called upon and comes to Genoa, pledging to take action to modify the income assessment system.
Ucina organises the conference 'Pleasure boating and the environment", sponsored by the Marina Mercantile and Transports Ministry and aiming at assessing the polluting potential of pleasure boating, and to discuss the need for constant environmental checks. The Calypso submarine is on display in the Marina: it will sail a few months later from the Tigullio Gulf.
VIP's at the Show: Prince Albert of Belgium, Raul Gardini, Renato Pozzetto, Loretta Goggi, Massimo Boldi, and Jerry Calà.
